I hope this works, 11 year old Alek thought as he slowly moved through the woods towards the girl´s fort. He was pretty nervous, having never played a game like this before and thus was unsure how it would go.
He was the last to join their group of friends, as he had only moved here with his parents a few months ago. At first he had been very shy in this new environment but in time he had opened up to the kids living in their neighborhood.
Jake next to him stepped on a twig and the sound echoed through the quiet forest. Alek gave his friend a look, and Jake stopped instantly. The two boys waiting in silence hoping that the girls hadn´t heard them. Alek fastened his grip around the hilt of his wooden saber, ready to draw it so he could defend himself.
Both boys wore dark green shirts and shorts, yet despite their attempts at mimicking real soldiers neither of them really blended in with the forest behind them. As nothing happened for a minute or so Alek let out a sigh of relief and run a hand through his short blonde hair, then he gestured Jake that they should move on.
They had circled around the girls fort and where now closing in on it from behind. They weren´t sure how many of the girls were currently there, or how many had headed out to capture their flag, but if Alek had to guess he would have assumed that two of them were out in the forest while the other two guarded the flag.
He hoped that Jakes red hair wouldn´t give them away as they got closer, his heart was racing in his chest as he looked up to the simple wooden palisade. He could see the red flag of the girls behind it. Swinging in the mild summer breeze that moved through the forest. They were so close.
Which was the moment they came upon them. Madison came from the right towards Jake while Ana charged at him, the girls brown hair flowing behind them. With their sabers raised the two girls seemed to resemble the legendary amazons and made the boys almost forget that their shorts were made from denim and not from the hides of captured animals.
Alek drew his saber and blocked Ana´s first attack against him. While Jake charged forward to met Madison on the other side. Ana was good with the saber, faster than Alek could have guessed, yet he was able to defend himself. Giving her a grin as he slowly began to drive her back he noticed a blush appear on her face as she averted her eyes, giving him an advantage that he quickly capitalized on as he dodged her saber and placed his right onto her stomach.
"Got you." He said, his smile turning into a grin.
Her face still red Ana slowly began to rise her hands. They had agreed that a hit directly on the torso meant that a fighter was out of the game for a minute, long enough for their captor to tie them up.
Alek turned around and saw that Jake and Madison were still fighting with each other. He was just about to come to the aid of his friend as the other two girls arrived.
His own younger sister, by a year, Mika slowly moved towards Jake, her saber raised but apparently not yet ready to attack. Like her brothers her hair was white blonde and her clothes were more simple than that of their friends.
Maria, the raven haired tomboy with her bronze skin had no such reservations and soon had closed in on Alek. She was an even better fighter than Ana and Alek soon found himself on the defensive, slowly moving backwards as he desperately tried to defend himself.
In contrast to the other girls Maria wore a tank top instead of a shirt and Alek couldn´t help but admire her muscular arms. He moved further backwards, nearly stumbling over a tree branch he was only able to block her next attacks at the last moment. I´ve got no chance, he knew and felt how he began to sweat. His only hope was Jake and he...
A quick glance over his shoulder showed him Jake having raised his arms in surrender against Madison and Mika. Alek was alone.
"Leave him to me!" Maria told the other girls with a confident slime. "Show me how it's done Alek." She taunted him.
Alek was able to hold himself against her for a few more moments, but then she knocked his saber out of his hand and placed it then below his chin. "Hands up!"
Slowly, his face burning in the humiliation Alek raised his hands just as Jake had done before him. The two boys now standing on the small clearing outside the girls fort. Hands raised and sabers pointing at them. And both of them knew what would happen next.
"Get your shirts off!" Madison ordered harshly and with a smug grin on her face.
This was the other part of their game, captives had to remove their shirts to allow their captors easy access to their stomach´s for tickling. At the pool you´ve been shirtless in front of them all the time. Alek reminded himself. But it wasn´t the same, this was sign of his defeat, a sign of shame. Slowly he grabbed the edge of his shirt and began to pull it of. For a moment he kept it over his face as to hide his embarrassment. Then he pulled it fully over it and handed it to a grinning Madison, who raised it, along with Jakes as a trophy over her head.
Ana´s face had turned red again and Alek noticed that she was trying to look anywhere but not at him. Mika of course had seen her brother half naked more times than she could count so she wasn´t interested. The look Maria gave him however made his face even redder.
"Truly some nice captives do we have here," the 13 year old said as she run a hand over Alek´s bare upper body giving him a light tickle.
"Save that for later," Madison told her friend. "First we need to get these two tied up. On your knees."
Again it took a moment for Alek to convince himself to follow with Madison`s orders but he knew he couldn´t get around this. So he slowly moved down on his knees.
"Let that be a lesson to you," Madison´s confidence seemed to grow with every second. "Girls always win in games like that. So don´t make any bets with them that could end you up humiliated."
Maria stepped behind him, grabbed his hands and quickly moved them behind his back. He felt how she began looping rope around his wrists, beginning to tie his hands together. He tried to struggle a bit but Maria clearly knew her handiwork.
Meanwhile Madison gave Jake the same treatment.
"You been beaten by a girl," Maria told him laughing as she fastened his bonds. "Just wait until I tell everyone in school about it."
"You might wait a bit with the party," Alek said, a smile appeared on his face as he looked up the fort above.
"For what?" Maria asked, confusion in her voice.
Alek turned around to her and smile, "until you know you´ve actually won. Not lost."
Maria looked up and a small scream escaped her mouth. The other girls quickly followed her gaze. There atop the palisade stood Toby and Liam, the other two boys, proudly holding the girls flag they had just captured in their hands.
