All three are definitely great but I just have to choose the guy tying them up's socks.
Though if I was doing the tying I'd probably say use their own socks tbh.

Tyer’s socks always the hottest situation. Something so good about a guy knowing his socks are gross and just using them on a victim either to humiliate or just our of ease and desperation - the need for silence and having nothing else to hand.

I said the tyers socks. I like the constant reminder it gives the captive of who put them in that place while also giving that humiliation of having another persons footwear trapped in their mouth.

Though I'd have wanted to say another guy's worn socks and with this bringing forward the opportunity of maybe a dad's sock being introduced to the scenario, I had to think about it more.
In the end, I think the tyer's worn socks is the hottest and most scene-appropriate answer. It gives the tyer further opportunity to show his control and total domination over his bound victim: his ropework took away the ability of the prey to move, and now his very own putrid sock will take away the ability of the prey to speak. So HOT!

I like option two a lot (obviously), but I share [mention]Volobond[/mention]'s affinity for the third option "TYER GAGS BOUND VICTIM WITH ANOTHER GUY'S WORN SOCK(S)" hence why I feature such scenarios quite often in my own stuff.
Eg: Ryan tying Jesse up and gagging him with Corey's sweltering jogging socks: HOW I BECAME THE COLLEGE DORM SLAVE (M+/M)
Andrew being bum-rushed by Ethan and his rowdy friends before being gagged with Shane's reeking stink-bombs, and then Matt also falling prey to the horde before being silenced with a combination of Andrew and Mitch's smelly socks: EASY PREY I: AN UNPLANNED SLEEPOVER (m+/MM)
Eric being trussed up by Mitch and gagged with Chad's crummy ankle socks while Sergei is taken down by the other fire-fighter hunks and forcibly silenced with Eric's pungent bundles: EASY PREY IV: THE UNEXPECTED MANHUNT (M+/M)
The main protagonist and his airsoft teammate being captured by the opposing team before being bound up, secured and accidentally gagged with each others worn socks instead of their own: THE AIRSOFT GAME (M+/M+)

I went with if the victim's own socks were used as a means to be silenced. Say if the Tyer didn't have a source of a sock in the area and he was barefoot because he forgot a gag, using the victim's own sweaty socks is the best to me. Even if the victim was back from a run or something and has to taste his own cheesy, sweaty feet.

I prefer either the tyer’s. I take care of my feet so I’d never get anything gross from me. Other guys, on the other hand…
And it’s way more humiliating to know you’re indirectly sucking on the toes of someone you might barely know!

Surely it’s gotta be the socks of the person tying you up for extra fun.
I would rank my own socks lowest on the pecking order solely cause they are mine and their is no particularly humiliating element to that in comparison to the other two.
