I’ve only played around with it a bit myself, nothing super perilous. I’d like to meet someone I can trust to really control me though. The most I’ve done myself is cover my nose with cloths or clothes to restrict airflow to my mouth and nose and bury my head into my pillow. Of course it would be much better to be in bondage and have someone else restricting my air :p
