It's scary actually to think about what might happen after Connor returns home. The main character really did try his best to let his captors know that he wasn't the guy they were looking for but it was in vain.

I think Jeremy should not return to be Brad's sub again. But I hope they can at least talk with each other, once Jeremy is ready to do so. It's actually nice to see that Nick feels insecure about his plans for once. It makes him more human.

The point is that they don't actually need to work as a group, because there's no way he'll escape from that box. So it's just added humiliation. I agree that the descriptive style of this story is really appropriate.
