In Strictures (with apologies to W.E. Henley)
by OldTUGger
Over your wrists so slim and bare,
Out of the reach of fingers’ touch,
I cinch the cords and knot them there
And now your hands cannot move much.
Into your mouth I slide the ball
That silences your saucy tongue,
And renders all your sounds so small
All meaning from your words is wrung.
Around your body are stout ropes
That keep you fastened to this post,
And sever from you any hopes
That you might vanish like a ghost.
To have you helpless in my home
Gives rise to urges that do make
My lips and hands to o’er you roam
Rend’ring your virtue mine to take.
