Good work, I like the way you handle conversations and incorporate witticisms. One major slip-up, this janitor seems a bit sloppy with gag work. After all he doesn't stuff something in first. A true nancy drew sleuth would know enough about unstuffed gags to know they can be dislodged when necessary (like warning the headteacher of her own impending capture). I'm sure he has some duct tape about as well. That seems to do the trick if you wrap it around a cleave or otm gag enough times.

Kicking my heels at the end of the day I found I myself going back to this earlier, as yet incomplete, tale. However I found myself unable to decide if my beloved/ fearsome Headmistress (delete as appropriate) is a fellow damsel, or simply another captor intent on keeping me in ropes and gags.
Enclosed is the opening few lines of each, I’ll leave it to you, the readers to decide which way the plot should develop – just leave your votes/ suggestions/ comments and I’ll tally them up in a couple of weeks

Part 3 (a)
“Well, this was all rather unexpected,..”
Silently l felt inclined to agree.
“I really must apologize for the heavy handed nature of my boyfriend. You have to believe me when I say I felt just terrible when I saw you all tied up like that” She said with a sympathetic glance

“Thmn hntnm mm,.. qhnggln bmfhrm hm rmthrnf”

“Oh, I’m sorry Sam, I’d love to help, really I would,.. but” She said, her voice trailing off

“Whnt- Nhh twh hrm Hmn thnf thgmthmr?!”

“I see your reputation for detective work is well earned”
I stared back at her.

“What’s this? The infamous teen detective, our very own Nancy Drew, at a loss for words?”
I grunted with a frown, moving my eyes towards my mouth and baring my teeth.

“Oh that’s right, you can't talk can you?”

“If I remove the gag will you promise to behave?”

Seeing little choice I nodded my agreement

“That’s a good girl. Ewww, gross!” she said as she lifted the damp scarf from between my teeth where it was left hanging around my neck, most likely as a warning not to ask too many questions,..

“Still, at least we know why you’re always losing your school ties,..” She said with a chuckle.

Strange, though it was, to hear my Headteacher laugh (even if it was at her own, rather feeble joke) it was reassuring to see she was taking the situation in her stride. After all, it isn’t every day that the Headmistress of a nondescript comprehensive school finds herself caught up in a hostage situation with one of her own pupils,..

It is a truth, universally acknowledged by pupils, regardless of age, that it can be a strange and disconcerting experience seeing teachers outside of their natural habitat – to whit the classroom. Of course this feeling of discomfort only becomes more pronounced when said teacher catches you doing something you shouldn't. For the average teenager this might concern a spot of under age drinking, or maybe being seen smoking behind the supermarket in town – however, for a teen detective with a penchant for getting captured by local crooks this might just as easily result in being found in a state of bondage by your Headmistress.
Despite the gravity of the situation – I was currently a bound and gagged captive of angry Scotsman I found myself blushing a vivid shade of red that lay somewhere between fuchsia and magenta on the color wall-chart.
Miss Andrews had dark, sleek black hair cut into an angled bob and was dressed in a green pussy bow blouse and immaculate white trouser suit.
As usual in her presence I felt decidedly under-dressed.
Frustratingly she even looked far younger than I ever imagined a headteacher to be. Maybe in her early to mid thirties.
Her features were inscrutable. Was she angry, disappointed, gassy? It was impossible to say for sure.
“You know, you really should take better care of your school tie” She said accusingly, taking in the unlikely scene

“Fhrrn Mnff” I said, mumbling an apology, aware that the punishment for a uniform infraction was thirty minutes detention.

“Still, at least you kept you had to good sense to keep your top button done up, so I’ll let it slide this once”

“Thhng nhh Mnff” I replied, unsure if she was joking.

However, if I was deathly embarrassed (and I was!) Miss Andrews appeared to be taking the whole situation in her, considerable stride.

“So,” She said addressing my abductor in a light and breezy tone “I see you’ve met our resident Nancy Drew”

“Aye! You could say that” He grumbled noisily “Meddlesome brat! Someone should tell her to keep her nose out of other people’s affairs!”

“Oh, believe me I’ve tried. We all have. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve had to call her parents in an effort to curb her extra-curricular sleuthing – but in my experience, there are few people as meddlesome-or as obtrusive as a young school girl who thinks she’s the next Lois Lane”

“Hm prmfmr thm tmrm 'nnqhnfntnvm',..” I interjected to no response whatsoever

The janitor harrumphed in agreement “Ak, I should imagine she’s quite a handful”

“Oh, you have no idea. For such a quiet, unassuming town we seem to be positively awash with smugglers, counter-fitters and pirates- No offense”

“None taken”

“And Samantha seems to regard it as her duty to bring them all to justice,.. I mean she’s a good kid at heart, a gifted writer and an excellent student,.. but sometimes it can all be a bit much you know,.. I mean, you wouldn’t believe how much paperwork is generated for the school every time she’s kidnapped”

“I can only imagine,..”

“But it’s her teachers I feel the most sorry for,.. being faced with a daily barrage of tiresome questions and conspiracy theories,..”

“Not to mention the inexhaustible supply of sarcasm,..” He interjected

“Ha, ha! Yes, I did notice you discovered an innovative solution to that problem,..”

“I imagine a few members of the faculty have been sorely tempted,..”

“Hmn, dh nhh mnnd hwfhlln nht dnfghffnng mm lngm Hm’m nht hmrm” I grumbled indignantly.

After all, it was one thing to be tied to a chair with a school scarf in your mouth, but it was quite another to be ignored into the bargain,..

“Oh I’m sorry, where are my manners – there we were drifting into a redundant intimacy and all the time poor Samantha here was sitting here trussed up like a pig with an apple in it’s mouth” She turned back to face me “Are you okay Dear? You’re not hurt are you??”

I shook my head but before I could attempt to speak I found myself interupted-
“She’s fine!” The Janitor said dismissively “I’ve barely inconvenienced the girl”

“You tied her up and locked her in the attic!”

“Besides that”

“Still, I think I’d feel better hearing it from the lady herself. I take it you have no objections?” She said glancing over at my captor

“Okay, fine. You can take the gag off, but just for a minute,.. and the ropes stay on!”

Miss Andrew’s didn't bother arguing, but simply lifted the saliva soaked material from between my teeth and left it hanging loose around my neck

“There, that’s much better, now tell my dear, are you okay?”

“Well, I was a little tied up, but none the worse for ware all told”

“There, see! I told you there was nothing to worry about” He gloated triumphantly “I’m sure this happens to her all the time”

“That’s so not the point!” I replied angrily.

“Sam’s right. Just because she stumbled onto your criminal plot doesn’t give you the right to take her hostage”

‘Yeah! You tell em’ Miss A!’ I thought to myself

“Still, like you say, there was no harm done, so, what say we return to the matter at hand?-”

“Which is?” I asked, happy to be finally be free to join in with the conversation after a lengthy period of being muzzled

“Namely, what is this gentleman going to do with the two of us to stop us running to the law?”

“Oh, that” I said matter-of-factly “I imagine he’ll want to intern us somewhere while he makes his escape. I’m sorry Miss. I hope you didn’t have any plans for the evening”

“Well, nothing as exciting as this!” the Headteacher replied sounding far from worried

“So you’re not angry?” I asked skeptically

“Oh dear me no. It all sounds rather fun”

“Really?”
“Really?” We chimed in unison

“Oh definitely. Secretly I always wanted to join you on an adventure. You always make it sound so exhilarating. Besides, it almost certainly beats another night buried beneath a tower of lesson plans and History essays”

“Well, if you’re sure,..?”

“Good, that’s settled then. We get locked up” She said point at the two of us “And you make your getaway,..”

“Oh, would that it were so simple,..” he replied whilst sporting a hideous grin

“How do you mean?”

“Well, like I said, I’m all too familiar with Samantha’s hard won reputation as an escape artist- she’ll have picked the lock on the door before I even made it as far as the car-park,..”

“You overestimate my talents”

“Oh come now, don’t be modest, it doesn’t suit you”

“Very well, what if I promise to give you a head start?..” I offered teasingly

“Tempting, but no. I think I’d much rather take preventative action,..”

‘Preventative action’, I wasn’t sure I liked the sound of that,..
Still, in for a penny,..

“Well color me intrigued” I replied confidently “I do so love a challenge. What did you have in mind?”

“You’ll see soon enough, but for now I tire of your senseless prattling-” And with that my gag was replaced and cruelly tightened for good measure.

“Was that really necessary?” Miss Andrews asked as I stewed quietly in my bonds.

“Not strictly speaking he said conversationally, “But are you honestly telling me it isn’t much more peaceful?”

“Well, I suppose-”

I stared back angrily. Et tu Miss Andrews.

“Ah, ha! I’ve got it!” He exclaimed after a lengthy moment of quiet contemplation.

“Ght whht?” I asked
“Got what?” the Headteacher echoed.

“My devious plan. I’m going to stay here with Miss teen detective 2019, meanwhile you are going to go down to the games locker and gather up all the jump ropes and school ties you can find and bring them back to me here”
I swallowed hard.

“Then, we’re all going to discover just how good an escape artist our young sleuth really is. And won’t that be exciting boys and girls?”

That said, it does sound like he fully intends to do a through job. My best hope is that he forces us the two of us (me and teach) to tie each other up (I know a few ‘trick knots’,..)
