How would.... and AMA
Will those two topics come back or not? Just asking for a friend of mine
What are you waiting for? Finally put a gag in my mouth and play with me!
I will restore "How Would" for the TUG talk section.
I wasn't very fond of the AMA section, as I felt like it was more or less a way to stroke one's own ego, but I will bring it back under the following conditions :
1. AMA questions should be related to TUGs
2. Jason Toddman and Xtc agree.

Whoops, didn't mean to lock this topic. It's back open for discussion.
Agree that AMA is a self-promoting poseur's charter but, if that's what the people want, Idon't have to read it.
Now, what about that moderator for teh social side of things?

There's no really need for AMA, I just realized it isn't there and I was curious how your plans about it was. I also wanted to ask if that "Describe yourself" text on your profile will come back too?

I personally have no use for AMAs - I didn't even know what an AMA was until a few months ago - but i agree that it's okay as long as it relates basically to TUGs. I myself rarely even looked at AMAs except for a couple from users I already knew well and liked.chadmc90 wrote: ↑6 years ago I will restore "How Would" for the TUG talk section.

Ok, I am curious, what does AMA stand for?

It can't be AMA if it is restricted to TIGs. You'll have to call it AMAATUG.
Then that's what it'll be then. We're trying to keep anything off topic off the board, as we want to shift the focus back to TUGs at the least, if not the actual stories the site was created for. If AMA's allow for general discussion not related to TUGs, I don't believe they have a place here. Go to another site if you want it that bad.petraspeds wrote: ↑6 years ago It can't be AMA if it is restricted to TIGs. You'll have to call it AMAATUG.
Okay, I've restored How Would sections.
I also made a change to both the Role Play section and the How Would section. If any topic within these sections becomes inactive for more than 90 days, (i.e. the last post is more than 90 days old), then it will get auto deleted. I will also resync post counts every other week.
This means that any "ranks" you have gotten by simply spamming role play requests will go away. It also helps keeps the board clean and void of any inactive topics.

Actually, I think I fixed it to where these forums won't add to post count anyways just now. That works too.
